Enough of the Gym Already!

After spending 40 minutes on the ellipitical and bike I know for a fact I despise the gym. There is nothing I like about it. Nothing.

That's okay...very soon Spring will be here and I'll be outside.

Enjoying the wind on my face...
The smell of fresh flowers and grass...
Listening to the birds sing...
Feeling the warmth of the sun...
I will be outside, walking fast, pumping my arms, sweating, smiling....feeling alive.

Goethe-
Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is clouded.

Do you prefer gym workouts or being outside for your workouts?

  1. I know how you feel! The gym can be pretty boring sometimes. I too cant wait for spring. I love walking/jogging outside and just enjoying the scenery! Thumbs up on the workout though! That’s great :D

  2. Depends on what I am doing and what the weather is like. I do enjoy a long bike ride outside on a beautiful day:)

  3. I prefer the outdoors. Taking in a hike, a trip around the block once or twice, maybe even the local school track. I had that wanting to be outside kind of moment today. As I headed for the morning paper I was greated with an ahhhh moment. It had rained yesterday with more to come this week so I figured it would be wet & very cold. I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted to just stand on my driveway and take it all in. A little bit upset that I didn't realize the welcome weather sooner. It wasn't crisp, cold or wet. The sun was just coming thru a little bit of cloud and there was no wind. I heard the neighbor start up his lawn mower trying to beat the incoming rain. Just a peaceful kind of Spring like moment.
But, you can do this - soon you will be outside being one with nature. The gym is giving you the support you need. Keep up the good work!!!

  4. I kind of like a bit of both, but being outside definitely challenges your core, rather than the treadmill which can be really boooooorrrrinnnggg.

  5. You need to take some fun classes Leslie! That's what keeps me sane. Have you tried Spin? Love it! You can't do damage to anyone because you're confined to your bike : ) That's my favorite part!

  6. Oh my gosh, I am the same way! I can't stand being at the gym anymore! I have been walking outside all winter long and then taught myself to run. I just can't do indoor stuff after cycling last summer!
